Overseas visitors travelling to Greece during the summer months may not realize that the blue skies and sunny days often remain until the end of the year. Once the rainy days eventually set in, the blue skies will never be far away. In fact, Christmas in Crete may just provide summer temperatures and blue skies which locals see as a blessing, rather than abnormal weather phenomenon. During the winter, the blue sky in Crete (especially) also improves the scenery drastically. The blue sky becomes clear and radiant, and the magnificent snow-topped mountains provide an astonishing backdrop to any photography. Visitors may wonder whether the locals take the amazing weather in Crete and the blue skies for granted. Many argue they do. Blue skies will always reappear shortly after a rainfall, and the winter blues will arguably remain the best in Europe.
