Lefkes is one of the most beautiful villages on the island of Paros. It is located in central Paros, to the south and east of the main town of Parikia. Lefkes is a village of a few hundred inhabitants that is perched 900 feet above the nearby sea. The surrounding countryside is full of verdant hills featuring pine trees and olive groves, all within sight of neighboring Naxos Island. Now a quaint and sleepy little town off the well-trod tourist path, Lefkes used to be the capital of the entire island during the Middle Ages. The town is defined by its iconic Greek whitewashed houses and a mixture of Venetian architecture, centuries-old churches, charming traditional windmills and enigmatic dovecotes. The elegant and classy Greek island architecture in Paros combines with the quiet charm of the town to offer the visitor an unparalleled and unspoiled taste of authentic Greek island life.
